Testimonial What a privilege it is to write a testimonial about Wonder Wood Ranch. Marlo is passionate about using horse and animal therapy and the peaceful surroundings of their property to breathe life, confidence, hope, joy and peace into the lives of everyone who comes onto the ranch. She attends the Community Alliance for Safety and Peace (a collection of our local police, government, schools, non-profits, and the faith community) where we gather together for peer-learning as we partner to do violence prevention and intervention work with youth and kids. Twice a month she offers to partner with anyone who wants to experience “Hope on Hooves,” and many have taken her up on it. At Wonder Wood, I’ve seen hardened teen gang members who gave up handguns to get in a city van come to the ranch and become transformed into little kids again. I’ve seen kids who thought they couldn’t, realize they could. I’ve seen kids with heads hung down under hoodies sitting up smiling atop a horse or petting one of the many other animals on the ranch. Whether it is foster kids, special needs kids, medically-challenged kids, under-resourced kids, or kids living in violent environments, lives are being changed through Wonder Wood Ranch. I hope you will give generously to this wonderful non-profit! --Mark Simmons, Senior Pastor, Salinas Valley Community Church, “Loving Salinas with Abandon”--

The goal of this course is for each participant to create a publishable piece of writing that will be included in a compilation after the course has concluded. Summer Day Camps
Our summer day camps include both on-site horse camps and off-site camps for kids who have no other opportunities to be involved in summer camps. These camps aim to transform lives through focused week-long camps during the summer. Kids learn about ranch life, learn to ride on their own, and are trained for positive life activities. Horse camps are usually only available to kids who can afford it. With your help, these life-transforming camps can be experienced by the neediest and most at-risk in our community. Camp changes lives and will be remembered for a lifetime! Your donation will make a forever-impact on the life of a kid who would never be able to have this kind of experience.

Picnic in the Pasture
Picnic in the Pasture is a fun program for kids of all ages. Our most basic, introductory program allows kids to experience our animals while having a fun "picnic" at the Ranch. We find that even simple exposure to the Ranch environment and the animals can open kids to hope and new perspectives in life. A mere $30 can provide lunch and a wonder-filled experience for kids who otherwise are stuck inside their homes due to neighborhood violence and gang activity.

Boronda Manor Horses & Hope
Our Boronda Manor program is supported by the Arts Council for Monterey County to bring art, fun, and wonder of childhood to kids at Boronda Manor and other low income apartment complexes in North Salinas. Wonder Wood Ranch has targeted a specific high-crime area in North Salinas to bring this impactful program. Our first program has launched at Boronda Manor, a low-income apartment complex with over 500 kids. Regularly, we bring a message of hope along with animals-related art, crafts, activities, food, and other fun to the kids at Boronda Manor, at no cost to them. We hope to expand to other low-income apartment complexes in the area as well as the local elementary and middle schools. We aim to transform this gang-impacted area of our city with the power of horses and hope! Can you help? (Featured in The Salinas Californian, May 2018) SPONSORSHIP: $ Any amount/event
