**PRIVATE EQUINE THERAPY SESSIONS AVAILABLE**
Equine Therapy scheduling available for those who need more than just riding lessons. NEW: The TAILS Training Program!
Our new TAILS Training Program is an exciting, innovative, multi-leveled approach to preventing and reducing violence and promoting whole-person wellness for youth, using rescue horses and other rescue animals. Youth are taught to train and handle horses for education, job opportunities, and mental health. Please support this impactful new program and save the lives of both youth and animals! Hope on Hooves
Hope on Hooves is our flagship program for gang-impacted and other at-risk kids. Kids ride the nearly half mile trail through the woods, learn archery, do crafts, interact with the donkeys, minis, bunnies, chinchillas, chickens, etc. while learning about making positive choices and considering life alternatives to drugs, gangs, and despair. In this program, kids explore new perspectives for life and personal growth. (Featured on KION 5/46 News, July 1, 2018)

Horses & Heroes
Currently funded through a grant from the Northern Monterey County Foundation, an affliate fund of the Community Foundation for Monterey County, Horses & Heroes focuses on using horses to give foster kids the tools they need to become heroes in their own communities. This powerful program teaches the value of overcoming fear, past hurts, and negative pressure so that kids can value others, make good choices, and impact the lives of siblings, friends, and classmates. Through learning cooperation and confidence, kids are encouraged to be the positive change in their communities and lives. (Featured on the front page of The Salinas Californian, May 2018)
SPONSORSHIP: $75/kid Funding for this program for Northern Monterey County was provided by Northern Monterey County Foundation, an affiliate fund of the Community Foundation for Monterey County. The Northern Monterey County Foundation is an endowment created meet local needs now and in the future.
Animals & Art
Our Animals & Art program is supported by the Arts Council for Monterey County and combines the power of animals and artistic expression to heal and give hope to kids who are the most at-risk in our community. Professional artists and teachers of art partner with us and our animals to open the world of art to kids. Kids learn basic forms of art (painting, sculpture, sketch, watercolor, etc.) with animals to increase the personal impact of this program.

T.A.I.L.S. Leadership Academy
Our impactful TAILS program is currently partially funded through a grant from Yellow Brick Road and is seeking further support. T.A.I.L.S stands for: Trauma-informed Animal-assisted Interactive Leadership Skills development TAILS is a weekly program either offsite (such as at juvenile hall where a pilot program is underway) or onsite at Wonder Wood Ranch. Each week, various animals are incorporated into the session, such as full-sized or miniature horses or donkeys, sheep, goats, chickens, chinchillas, guinea pigs, etc.. Our staff facilitates a trauma-informed, interactive session designed specifically to develop positive, compassionate leadership skills in trauma-impacted kids/youth. Our fun, hands-on methods and activities help kids/youth to break through long-standing barriers so that they can envision a violence-free future and acquire the tools to accomplish such a future! This program is also available in individual sessions to victims of human trafficking (initiation of the human trafficking portion of this program was also supported through a grant from Yellow Brick Road). Critters, Classics, & Creative Writing
Launched through an opportunity grant from The Community Foundation of Monterey Country, this program is now available to schools, individual classes, and groups of at-risk kids/youth, as well as individuals. This program provides hands-on education about animals combined with classic literature (such as Black Beauty, Charlotte's Web, The Giving Tree, etc.), and professional writing instruction. The goal is not only to increase literacy but to create a love for reading and writing that will help kids to make better life choices and find alternatives to violence. This program is taught by a professional, multi-published and award-winning author. Programs available to ages 4 and above, focusing on grades 5-12.

Open Volunteer Time
For those who want to stay connected to the Ranch outside of regular programs or sessions, or for those looking for community service hours, check out our Open Volunteer Saturdays! Volunteers come from 10am to noon every Saturday to help clean, take care of the animals, and lend a hand to make the Ranch a success! No riding, just being a part of the wonder at Wonder Wood Ranch!
Every Saturday, 10am -Noon Kids 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
Summer Day Camps
Our summer day camps include both on-site horse camps and off-site camps for kids who have no other opportunities to be involved in summer camps. These camps aim to transform lives through focused week-long camps during the summer. Kids learn about ranch life, learn to ride on their own, and are trained for positive life activities. Horse camps are usually only available to kids who can afford it. With your help, these life-transforming camps can be experienced by the neediest and most at-risk in our community. Camp changes lives and will be remembered for a lifetime! Your donation will make a forever-impact on the life of a kid who would never be able to have this kind of experience.

Boronda Manor Horses & Hope
Our Boronda Manor program is supported by the Arts Council for Monterey County to bring art, fun, and wonder of childhood to kids at Boronda Manor and other low income apartment complexes in North Salinas. Wonder Wood Ranch has targeted a specific high-crime area in North Salinas to bring this impactful program. Our first program has launched at Boronda Manor, a low-income apartment complex with over 500 kids. Regularly, we bring a message of hope along with animals-related art, crafts, activities, food, and other fun to the kids at Boronda Manor, at no cost to them. We hope to expand to other low-income apartment complexes in the area as well as the local elementary and middle schools.
